The End of the World

Okay, not literally the end of the world, just figuratively speaking of course. Or at least the end of the Continental United States. Mile Marker "0" on US1. The Southermost Point . . . Key West, Florida! We went down to the Florida Keys on vacation the last week in May, and we just had to drive to Key West (about 80 miles from Islamorada, the "Key" we were staying on). It was like reaching the finish line on our vacation.

We had such a good time in the Keys, went on a glass bottom boat at Pennecamp, fed the tarpon at "Robbie's" in Islamorada (a must!). Went to "Herbies", an old restaurant haunt of ours that we hadn't been to in over 10 years. We highly recommend staying at the "Ragged Edge Resort" if you are looking for a place to stay down there. It was homey and quaint, very secure and gorgeous. Not a ritzy big chain hotel, and not some falling apart small dive, it was just perfect for us and if we ever go back down there again, that's where we'd definitely stay!
